Why Attorneys
Trust Doctor Kroll:
Medical-Legal Expertise
As a Board-Certified Internist with more than 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Kroll is uniquely qualified to evaluate complex medical issues arising in personal injury, workers' compensation, disability, toxic tort, occupational disease, and medical causation litigation. Unlike specialists whose expertise is limited to a single organ system, his Internal Medicine training provides a comprehensive understanding of how injuries, illnesses, medications, environmental exposures, and chronic diseases interact and affect the whole patient. This broad perspective is particularly valuable when evaluating cases involving multiple comorbidities, disputed causation, permanency, disability, and long-term prognosis.
Dr. Kroll has performed thousands of independent medical examinations, permanency evaluations, record reviews, and medical causation assessments for attorneys, insurers and employers. His experience encompasses a broad spectrum of medical-legal matters, including internal organ injuries, occupational illnesses, toxic and environmental exposures, infectious diseases, cardiovascular disorders, metabolic conditions, pulmonary disease, cancer-related claims, neurological complaints, and complex cases involving multiple contributing medical factors. His opinions are grounded in evidence-based medicine, peer-reviewed scientific literature, and detailed analysis of medical records, diagnostic studies, and occupational histories.
Dr. Kroll's unique qualifications are further strengthened by his extensive training in Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Biostatistics. He earned a M.S. in Statistics and a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, holds a Certification in Toxicology from Johns Hopkins University, and is a member of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology. This specialized expertise enables him to evaluate chemical exposures, medication-related injuries, poisoning cases, environmental contaminants, occupational toxicology claims, and complex questions of medical causation. His scientific training allows him to critically analyze issues involving dose-response relationships, biological plausibility, epidemiologic evidence, toxic mechanisms of injury, and risk assessment.
In addition, Dr. Kroll has received specialized training and certification in diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound interpretation, providing him with additional expertise in the assessment of soft tissue injuries, abdominal pathology, vascular disorders, and internal organ abnormalities. His ability to integrate clinical findings with diagnostic imaging enhances the accuracy and depth of his medical evaluations.
Dr. Kroll has a longstanding commitment to medical education and professional instruction. He currently serves as an instructor for the USC Davis School of Nursing and the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and previously served as an instructor at Georgetown University Medical School. He has lectured extensively to healthcare professionals and legal audiences on medical-legal topics and the application of evidence-based medicine in litigation. Notably, he has presented for the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ) on the evaluation and causation of internal organ injuries in workers' compensation litigation.
In addition to his educational activities, Dr. Kroll has served as Principal Investigator for numerous clinical research studies through Prometrix Clinical Research and Iberica Clinical Research. His research experience has provided him with advanced expertise in study design, clinical trial methodology, biostatistics, critical appraisal of medical literature, and the interpretation of scientific evidence. These skills are particularly valuable in evaluating the medical literature that often forms the foundation of complex litigation.
Whether serving as an independent medical examiner, consulting expert, or testifying expert witness, Dr. Kroll combines extensive clinical experience, toxicological expertise, academic scholarship, research leadership, and teaching experience to provide clear, objective, and scientifically supported medical opinions. His ability to communicate complex medical concepts in an understandable manner has made him a trusted resource for attorneys, insurers, judges, and claims professionals throughout New Jersey and beyond.
